Was kind of having second thoughts after seeing the $40/year price. Six Flags was one of my happy places but was already leaning towards not getting passes next year. Guess they're trying to push the memberships. Saw other posts mentioning it previously but originally didn't see it on the Six Flags site.īut after seeing your post, searched through the FAQs section for Six Flags America and it says the same thing. I actually came on to this sub to look into this more. Would be so much simpler, but they have to complicate it all. They could also offer either a monthly rate or a yearly rate. They could instead offer multiple season pass tiers or stick with their membership tiers. I bet some people actually have both thinking the membership is an add on. I have no idea why they just don't offer one product as in either Season Passes or Memberships. With the Gold Plus membership there are some added benefits like "Discounts on Food/Merch Every Visit" which I didn't get with my season pass. I guess that is about what I paid during the last flash sale in 2019 because I think it was like $55 or $60. So in order for you to be able to visit all the parks, you need to get a Gold Plus membership which will cost $6,00 or more per month depending on the park or $72 per year since you have to commit to the year. Thankfully, I never bought memberships before anyway. I almost bought the season pass thinking memberships were an "add on" and it isn't. As confusing as their crazy system is, you either get a season pass or a membership. The other thing that I always found confusing is the memberships in that I always thought you needed a season pass and then you purchases a membership, but that is not the case either. Become a Six Flags Member if you want a Pass that lets you visit ALL Six Flags theme parks and waterparks." "A Great Escape Season Pass can only be used to visit Great Escape (or enter your home park). They say the season passes are non refundable, but they really didn't do a great job explaining the change and hid a lot of stuff in the FAQs which read.Ĭan I use my Season Pass to visit other Six Flags parks besides those listed above? So if you bought the $39.99 deal, and you want to visit other parks, you need to call Six Flags immediately to somehow cancel your order. I live near Great Escape, which is worthless, but New England and Great Adventure are both close by too, so I typically go to 3 parks. $39.99 is a great deal if you ONLY plan on visiting one park, but not so much if you want to go to others. The 2022 season passes are only good for the park you bought it from unless that park specifically has some sort of an exception because they don't have a water park, etc. Unfortunately that isn't the case for 2022. In the past when they ran the flash sale, the season pass always included the Gold option which gave you free parking and visits to any of the other Six Flags parks. Even if you just ride Joker/Medusa, use your skip the lines, watch a show or two, and leave by 2.Those of you that jumped on what seemed like a fantastic $39.99 deal to renew your season passes will get a big surprise next year if you care to visit other parks than the one you bought yours through. Rides also are frequently on one train or only can have one train.Įspecially since you have a pass I think it’s worth it to at least check it out for a couple of hours. Discovery Kingdom has rides broken down frequently throughout the day, and in my 3 visits (early summer, winter, late summer), never have all rides been open at the start of the day and at least 1 ride doesn’t open at all. I’m sure they get old fast, but for a first visit I liked the tiger one for example. The zoo/shows is something that’s not really taken into account when people talk bad about the park. There are also animal shows that, apart from the dolphin one, are more educational than having the animals do tricks. As far as safety/feel goes, Joker is like Twisted Colossus, Medusa is like Scream, Boomerang is like Viper, and Superman is like Full Throttle/West Coast Racers. The rides will feel very similar yo Magic Mountain as far as safety goes.
